The Legacy Robotics Team won the tournament championship in their last competition this past weekend! This victory qualifies them to compete in the High School State Championship tournament in Texarkana on March 13-14.

This is a remarkable feat for the team in their first year of competing and showcases their persistence and teamwork. After three tournament finishes with a top placement of 13th, the team undertook a complete redesign and reprogramming of the robot. They defeated one of the top-ranked teams in Texas to win the finals.

Way to go Syon Sajjan, Christian Greene, Pierce Patterson, Sohum Shaw, Wyatt Malcolm, Mason Frazier!

Congratulations to Mrs. Storms, our outstanding science teacher at Tyler Legacy! Mrs. Storms teaches Pre-AP Biology and AP Environmental Science and continues to set the bar high with engaging, rigorous, and hands-on learning experiences.
This week, she took learning beyond the classroom with a Living Lab, walking her students across to the creek at Rose Rudman Park. Her AP Environmental Science students collected real water samples for testing, giving them an authentic, real-world science experience. 🌱💧

Today Ms. Baldwin’s Foundation of Career Prep class had an incredible experience at the Chamber of Commerce Career Connections (C4) event!
Students rotated through four 40-minute interactive sessions focused on career pathways, essential skills, résumé building & mock interviews, digital detox, and financial literacy. They also engaged with local professionals through career pathway discussions, gaining real-world insight into career journeys, workplace expectations, and future opportunities.
This hands-on experience gave students real-world insight into careers, money management, and professional skills. Preparing these students for life beyond the classroom!

Today some of our Tyler Legacy AVID students attended the Chamber of Commerce Career Connections at TJC. Chamber of Commerce Career Connections (C4) is a one-day program hosted by the Tyler Area Business Education Council and Chamber of Commerce. Students are connected with over 60 local business professionals where professionals share their work experiences, challenges, and personal backgrounds. Students engage in interactive sessions, hands-on interviewing, résumé reviews with HR professionals, and learn basic money management from finance experts. What a great experience for our students!

To celebrate making it halfway through the school year, our Junior Student Council teamed up with the amazing Culinary classes to treat our staff to something sweet — brookies (because why choose between brownies and cookies when you can have both?).

The Carter Blood Center will host a "Giving is Groovy" Blood Drive on Wednesday, January 21st, running from 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM. This is an awesome opportunity to save a life, and for seniors, to earn your cord! All participating donors must check in first through the Media Center before proceeding to the Lecture Hall. Please mark your calendars, prepare by hydrating and eating a healthy meal, and plan to donate on January 21st! Be like a hippie and promote "Peace, Love, and Harmony" by donating blood!

If you are 15, you sadly can't donate. 16 year olds need a permission slip to participate, you can get one from room A335 or A130. 17 or 18 year olds- just sign up to donate!

We are so proud of Tyler ISD DECA. Last Friday they went to a District Competition where many of our TISD students qualified for state competition: Legacy had 10 students qualify, ECHS had 6, and Tyler High had 2. This is our chapter’s highest ever! This helped connect our students with many amazing student leaders from other chapters. It was a wonderful experience, and our president Sri Mandlem and chapter officer Jordynn gray achieved THRIVE Level in categories Promotional Campaign and Ethics and Leadership Campaign.

Congratulations to Tyler Legacy Senior, Vera Banta, on her selection to be a part of the prestigious Texas All State Mixed choir. This will be Vera’s second trip as an All State Vocalist, a selection process stay begins in August with more than 25,000 students across the state.
Her proud director is Dr. D.J. Bulls.

Congratulations to Tyler Legacy's Kenadi Carmichael and Myron Sinville on competing at the UIL State Congressional Debate tournament at UT Austin and the state capitol building - they went against some fierce competition and showed excellent rankings.
