The backpacks come filled with nutritious, easy-to-open food that does not require stove-top cooking. Empty backpacks are returned by the students and refilled for the following weekend.
@ETFoodBank distributed nearly 12k backpacks to Tyler ISD students from Aug – March 2019.
The Board has approved the East Texas Food Bank BackPack Program Partner Agreement.
@ETFoodBank partners with schools to provide food for children who participate in free and reduced-price meal programs during the week but are at risk of going hungry on weekends and holidays.
The Board has approved the Sponsorship Agreement with Group M7 and Purchase of Digital Arts Lab Equipment for Caldwell Arts Academy.
@Group_M_7’s partnership provides $60k to furnish a Digital Arts Lab with 24 virtual desktops, 24 drawing tablets, and the school’s own server.
The partnership with these universities (@FortHaysState, @SFASU, @gcu) will establish professional relationships and on-site collaboration between current educators and student teachers as well as increase the Tyler ISD applicant pool with highly qualified candidates.
The Board has approved the Field/Clinical Teaching Experience Agreement with Grand Canyon University.

The Board has approved the Field/Clinical Teaching Experience Agreement with Stephen F. Austin State University.
Tyler ISD welcomes @SFASU students and future teachers to work alongside our wonderful educators to gain industry knowledge firsthand.
The Board has approved the Field/Clinical Teaching Experience Agreement with Fort Hays State University.
This gives the @FortHaysState student teachers hands-on work experience and the ability to work alongside Tyler ISD certified teachers.
@UTHealthTyler and Tyler ISD will collaborate to maximize the services provided through the Mobile Clinic and ensure that children in need of this service have the opportunity to access it.
Services are free of charge and they will follow up every 6 months with those students.
The Board has approved the Business Associate Agreement with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler for the Mobile Pediatric Asthma Clinic.
The @UTHealthTyler Mobile Pediatric Asthma Clinic will travel to schools diagnosing and treating children with asthma.
The Board has approved the purchase of the Microsoft Volume License Subscription.
The volume license agreement (VLA) enables the district to supply the most current version of Microsoft products to students and staff as well as online resources such as Office365.
The Board has approved the purchase of the KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training.
All Tyler ISD employees are required to take Cyber Security Awareness training each year to comply with state law.
KnowBe4 Cyber Security Awareness Training is one of the state-approved programs.
The Board has approved the purchase of the Impero Education Pro License Subscription.
Impero software allows teachers to monitor, control, and share directly to the screens of their students.
