The Wayne D. Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs brought energy, excitement, and inspiration to Bonner Elementary School and Caldwell Arts Academy during its Wheelchair Dance Tour. Featuring a team of students ranging from pre-K to secondary, the tour showcased dynamic, student-led performances and celebrated the joy of artistic expression.

Each stop on the tour featured three choreographed dances, with students from the host schools invited to participate in two of them. The performances were followed by a student-led video presentation offering a glimpse into daily life at the Boshears Center, giving their peers an opportunity to learn more about the programs and students that make the campus unique.

β€œWe are so proud of our Wheelchair Dance team and this opportunity to share excitement for the arts through their one-of-a-kind routines,” said Boshears Director Brooke Parker. β€œThis tour allows them to celebrate the joy of creativity and community with our Tyler ISD schools.”

The visit to Bonner Elementary built on a growing partnership that began during the school’s Bee Day celebration in May 2024. At Caldwell Arts Academy, a campus known for its focus on fine arts, students and staff embraced the performance as a powerful example of how the arts can be inclusive and accessible to all.

Both school principals expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, and the Boshears team looks forward to future opportunities to bring students together through meaningful, artistic experiences.
