Requirements, Resources, and Contact Information

The Visiting International Teachers program allows certified teachers from other countries to teach in Tyler ISD schools for a period of up to five years. Teachers are hired to teach a variety of subjects at all levels, from Pre-K to 12th grade such as math, science, Spanish, English as a Second Language, and even English Language Arts. Visiting teachers provide Tyler ISD students an exciting opportunity to learn about the world and other cultures. Our district matches visiting teachers with experienced teachers who have been through this process. Through this program, many Tylerites have made friends with people beyond our borders, which is an added bonus of the program.

Meetings scheduled throughout the school year focus on individual classroom procedures and management.

You have a wealth of resources around you, from your administration to master teachers, mentor teachers, and fellow content teachers. They want to help and support you. We can provide the best experience for our students when we're willing to have a collaborative team effort mindset."

New teachers and principal designees with no experience also receive additional support though our Beginning Teacher Academy.
