Students who have prepaid for the bundle will receive each of the 4 portraits provided this year. Any student who has not prepaid may bring $5 in cash the day of the pictures. Families, we’ve worked hard to find a T-shirt vendor at last year’s price, but due to rising costs, we’ll only be offering portrait bundles this year.

Owens Pre-K had a great first week of school learning our rules, practicing our routines, making new friends, and exploring purposeful play centers. It’s going to be a great year of learning, growing, and building relationships! 💙 🦅 #WhereLeadersSoar #LittleEagles #NextIsNow

Our kindergarteners had a wild adventure today—they chased the Gingerbread Man all around the school! In the end, they didn't catch him, but he did leave the students a tasty treat in Mrs. Baker's office!

🎨🦅 Eagles, Easels, & Eats was a masterpiece in the making! Our staff put their memory (and creativity) to the test by painting our school logo completely from memory, some nailed it, others… let’s just say their eagles had a little extra personality. 😆 Big shoutout to Gotta Graze for fueling our inner artists with the most delicious charcuterie boxes. 🧀🥖🍓 Teamwork, laughter, and snacks—now that’s how you start the year! 💙

New state laws mean we can’t provide even basic health services at school—like taking a temperature, applying a bandage, or giving an ice pack—without your permission.
✅ Emergency care will still be provided if needed.
📌 To give consent, just complete the Health Services Consent Form as part of your child’s online registration.

Already registered? You STILL need to log in to Parent Self-Serve and fill out the form under the Health tab for each student.

🎉 Welcome Wednesday Spotlight! 🎉 Help us give a BIG Owens Elementary welcome to our newest team member — Melissa Kuhn!💙📚✨ Ms. Kuhn will be joining our flock as our Transitional Kindergarten Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. We couldn’t be more excited to have her on campus🌟 Here is a bit about Ms. Kuhn: I have been in education for 13 years. I taught private preschool for 7 years and for the last 6 years I have been teaching 1st grade in Midland, TX. I have always had a passion for teaching. I love watching children face challenging obstacles that might seem impossible or daunting; and with help and guidance, they overcome and master new skills and grow! I will be the new early childhood special education teacher at Owens. While there will be many new things for me to learn; early childhood is my wheelhouse. As a general education teacher in the past, I have worked very closely with the special education and resource teachers on my campus to make sure that my special education students get the best possible classroom experience that THEY need. I am most excited to meet the staff and my new team at Owens! Everyone seems like great team players and have already been so welcoming.
