🎨🦅 Eagles, Easels, & Eats was a masterpiece in the making! Our staff put their memory (and creativity) to the test by painting our school logo completely from memory, some nailed it, others… let’s just say their eagles had a little extra personality. 😆 Big shoutout to Gotta Graze for fueling our inner artists with the most delicious charcuterie boxes. 🧀🥖🍓 Teamwork, laughter, and snacks—now that’s how you start the year! 💙

New state laws mean we can’t provide even basic health services at school—like taking a temperature, applying a bandage, or giving an ice pack—without your permission.
✅ Emergency care will still be provided if needed.
📌 To give consent, just complete the Health Services Consent Form as part of your child’s online registration.

Already registered? You STILL need to log in to Parent Self-Serve and fill out the form under the Health tab for each student.

🎉 Welcome Wednesday Spotlight! 🎉 Help us give a BIG Owens Elementary welcome to our newest team member — Melissa Kuhn!💙📚✨ Ms. Kuhn will be joining our flock as our Transitional Kindergarten Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. We couldn’t be more excited to have her on campus🌟 Here is a bit about Ms. Kuhn: I have been in education for 13 years. I taught private preschool for 7 years and for the last 6 years I have been teaching 1st grade in Midland, TX. I have always had a passion for teaching. I love watching children face challenging obstacles that might seem impossible or daunting; and with help and guidance, they overcome and master new skills and grow! I will be the new early childhood special education teacher at Owens. While there will be many new things for me to learn; early childhood is my wheelhouse. As a general education teacher in the past, I have worked very closely with the special education and resource teachers on my campus to make sure that my special education students get the best possible classroom experience that THEY need. I am most excited to meet the staff and my new team at Owens! Everyone seems like great team players and have already been so welcoming. She is deeply committed to providing the care, support, and guidance each student needs to achieve their potential. ❗️Due to a chance of rain this morning, Popsicles with the Principal will now take place on Tuesday August 5th from 4:00-5:00pm! Same location - front playground! We look forward to seeing everyone there!☀️🎉

Parents, please send your student to school with over-the-ear headphones by the first day of school.

When purchasing headphones, please double-check the box to ensure they are not Bluetooth or rechargeable, as these types do not work effectively with our district Chromebooks.

Also, be sure to label the headphones with your child’s name so their teacher can easily identify them.

We apologize for the confusion — headphones were mistakenly removed from the school supply list created at the end of last school year. Additionally, if you purchased a supply kit through the PTA, please note that headphones were not included due to a mix-up with the supply list.
