To kick off Wish Week there will be a dodgeball tournament. Form your own team of 8 players to compete on February 9 right after early release. The winners of the tournament will face off against the Teacher team on February 16th during 5th period.

This past weekend the Tyler Legacy Winterguard competed in their first competition of the season at Rowlett High School. These students have been working hard to produce their show this season and are going to continue building on it into their future competitions! We are so proud of their hard work and wish them luck as they continue their season!

Join us for Jump Start Junior Night TONIGHT January 23 from 5:30-7:30 at the Career Technology Center. At this event, students and families will have an opportunity to get information about the upcoming end of high school years and after. Information will be available about FAFSA/TAFSA and how to apply, scholarship information, resume help, test prep, and more. There will also be representatives from colleges to speak about their universities and their admissions process.

Last Thursday evening Legacy Student Council hosted our Senior Encore fundraiser for prom. Along with a silent auction, guests were entertained by the many talented students from Legacy. Some of the acts included our musicians of both vocal and instrumental talents, comedy skit, line dance, drumline, cheer, and a trivia game.
We had some very special guest greeters this morning outside Legacy. These Legacy Dads volunteered their Friday morning to greet our students with Mr. Sherman. Be on the lookout for the next Dads on Duty opportunity!
DECA had an eventful day on Wednesday at the district competition with 6 state qualifiers! The state competition is held in Dallas, TX in March. Congratulations to all!!
These students represent Tyler Legacy High School and Tyler High School at our Career and Technology Center. We are so proud of all the DECA students who competed and wish the state qualifiers best of luck!

Currently they are 9-0-1 with their last Non-District game approaching this Friday January 20th, vs. Nacogdoches (4PM, 5:30 PM & Varsity @7:15 PM).

We are so thankful for the Tyler ISD Foundation for awarding Legacy teacher, Whitney Cleghorn a grant to continue to grow bee keeping at Legacy. The Foundation donated a $2,722 grant from @TylerISDFoundation for the "Our Honey is the Bees Knees" project. 🍯🐝 #GrantsForGreatIdeas

What does the grant do?
Tyler Legacy students will learn to maintain and take responsibility for checking on the bees, feeding them, and making sure the hive boxes stay clean. They will even harvest the honey the bee hive boxes produce each spring and fall. Harvesting the honey will help sustain the future of beekeeping on campus.
