Join Tyler Legacy Choir and Orchestra for a combined concert of Vivaldi's Gloria on December 16 at 6:30 in the Jan E Jones Theatre.
Before Thanksgiving break Tyler Legacy Theatre went on their first ever trip to the Texas State Thespian Festival/ Texas Thespians is an honor program to celebrate excellence in Theatre and this festival had over 8,000 students in attendance!
We had 25 students participate in this 3 day convention where they attended masterclasses, workshops, performances, and college callback/interviews!
Of those 25, 15 students received National Qualifying scores. This means they are eligible to compete in the National Thespian Festival held this summer. Their national qualifying scores were in in the following competition categories:
Solo Musical - Max Payne, Christian Taylor, Ellie Gale, Addison Dixon
Duet Musical - Kianna Sanchez & Mayleigh Wickliffe, Jalyssa Johnson & Isabella Valentin, and Fabiola Caraballo & Jabryn Carston
Monologue - Steven Young
Group Acting - Claire Grace, Ellis Wells, and Molly Slaughter
Lighting Design - Macy O'Neal
Also, in a Texas Only event, Makenzie Bulls was chosen as a finalist (top 14) for her Lip Synce Challenge Performance!
In addition, 3 of our students received PERFECT scores from all 3 judges and were called back to audition for the Mainstage Closing Ceremony:
Max Payne with Solo Musical and Fabiola Caraballo & Jabryn Carston with Duet Musical.
AND Fabiola and Jabryn were selected out of 120 callbacks to perform at the Closing Ceremony in front of roughly 4,000 attendees!
We had 3 seniors who submitted college auditions through Texas Thespians and they received a combined 24 college callbacks/interviews!
Way to go Tyler Legacy Theatre! We are so proud of you!

Jr. Ella Eckert finished 1st in both 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke
Fr. Madalyn Petty took 1st place in both 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke setting a new Meet Record in the 100 freestyle.
Sr. Josh Meadows won the 100 backstroke
Lady Raiders completed the sweep by winning all three relay events lead by Seniors Ava Greene and Elle Lemmert.

Congratulations to Shloak Dalal & Ronin Back, who took 4th place at the Lindale UIL debate tournament in the varsity division of CX Debate. Ronin has now earned his membership in the National Speech & Debate Association, a prestigious honor society for speech and debate competitors. Only about 3% of high school students achieve this honor. Joining him as the newest members of the NSDA are Sanaa Salvi and Julian Monico. Great job, TL Debate!
