We are proud to announce that the Tyler Legacy Wind Ensemble has been nationally recognized with the Foundation for Music Education’s Mark of Excellence Award—a first in our school’s history!

This prestigious award received 478 entries from more than 40 states, and our ensemble stood out among the nation’s best. This recognition is the result of our students’ dedication, countless hours of preparation, and their commitment to creating an outstanding musical performance.

It is Arts in Education Week!  Tyler Legacy Orchestra started off our week with a visit from Dr. Douglas Bakenhus, Director of Orchestral Studies/Bassoon Instructor at Northwestern State University. We had a wonderful clinic and talk about the orchestra studies at Northwestern. 

Last week, our district came together in a fight against hunger! In the district's 35th annual Pantry Raid, our district collected 27,077 pounds of food for the East Texas Food Bank. We are so proud of our Hometown School District! Way to work together to benefit our community!

She finished 9th out of 218 runners in the elite division.
