The Musician of the Week is chosen because of their dedication to music, leadership in the classroom, and unending pursuit of success. Students in Mr. Hulshouserβs 8th grade SS class prepared for their unit exam, through their Manifest Destiny review stations. Students used a combination of hands-on activities, technology, and review games to prepare for their test. Way to go Huskies! π§‘πΎ

Our AVID students huddle around to create arguments for their philosophical chairs debate topic: βShould space tourism be open to the public?β The research-based, thoughtful, and respectful responses were out of this world! πͺ Go Huskies! π§‘πΎ

Our 6th grade Huskies had the amazing opportunity to attend the annual Girl Power Summit today, hosted by the Junior League of Tyler. The mission of Girl Power is to encourage positive self esteem, promote a healthy lifestyle, inspire volunteerism and develop leadership potential.
They participated in a service project making blankets for the CAC of Smith County.
They learned about internet safety, mindfulness, did a little yoga and learned some self defense! They even got to meet Olympic Swimmer Natalie Hinds! Way to go Huskies! π§‘πΎππͺ

Congratulations to our 8A boysβ basketball team for taking home a W at the Mount Pleasant tournament this past weekend! First they crushed Sulphur Springs, then Mount Pleasant, and ended the tournament by decimating Boulter Middle School! Way to go Huskies! π§‘πΎπ

6th grade Huskies made ICE CREAM in Ms. Hardinβs and Mr. Thompsonβs science classes! They had a blast learning about chemical reactions, and even said their creations tasted delicious! What a treat for our Huskies to have such hands-on learning (and such enthusiastic teachers)! Go Huskies! π§‘πΎπ¦





Counselors are visiting with all 8th graders today and tomorrow in their CCR classes to go over their 4-year plans for high school. Please be on the lookout for these to come home today or tomorrow. They are due back signed THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 13TH!! Go Huskies! π§‘πΎ

Students in Mr. Hβs 8th grade SS class started off class by watching a clip from Bluey, titled βBob Bilby.β Despite being a popular show for littles, it had a profound message. He used it as a way to encourage his students to fill 2023 with more experiences, and less screen time. He asked his students, βWhat would Bob Bilby see if he was with you for a day?β If you havenβt seen it yet, give it a watch!
