📚✏️ 1st Grade Mathematicians at Work! ✏️📚
Our 1st graders started building their very own Math Notebooks 🧮✨ These special notebooks will help them grow into problem solvers and math thinkers all year long!
Here’s what they did:
👉 🖍️ Decorated and personalized their covers
👉 🔢 Created their first math pages together
👉 📝 Practiced writing math vocabulary
👉 🎉 Showed pride in organizing their learning
💡 These math notebooks will be a place to keep strategies, practice skills, and show off all the amazing math thinking happening in their classroom! 🌟

🎉🔬 4th Grade Science Fun Alert! 🔬🎉
They played a game called “What’s the Matter?” – a science twist on the classic Headbandz game! 🧠✨ Students had to guess their mystery word using physical properties like:
👉 🔹 Color
👉 🔹 Texture
👉 🔹 Shape
👉 🔹 State of Matter
🙌 The classroom was filled with excitement, teamwork, and lots of “aha!” moments as students reviewed and reinforced their knowledge of physical properties in a fun, hands-on way.
💡 Science + Games = Learning that sticks! 🌟

Thank you for bringing musical fun to our kindergarten students! 🎶🐾

Kona Ice Day & Grandfriends' Day coming up this week, cougars!

🌊🌍 Our students are diving deep into texts to explore the power of natural disasters! They’re comparing and contrasting tsunamis and earthquakes while sharpening their writing and critical thinking skills. 📚✍️ #FutureScientists #StudentWriters

College football kicks off today, but our principal got the first throw! 🏈🎯 Yesterday, staff lined up for a football toss through the hoop—bragging rights (and school spirit) on the line. Who needs ESPN when the real action is right here at Clarkston?

Our 4th and 5th graders brought the house down at their dance party! 🎉✨ With the new karaoke machine, they sang, laughed, and celebrated their hard work in style. 🎤💃🕺

Our 2nd and 3rd graders showed off their best behavior and earned a fancy party fit for stars ✨—complete with our brand-new karaoke machine! 🎤 From red-carpet vibes to show-stopping performances, this celebration hit all the high notes. 🎶👏

Our PK and kindergarten students had a blast at our very first behavior party of the year—a dance party! 💃🕺 They celebrated their hard work and positive choices with music, laughter, and lots of moves on the dance floor. 🎶👏 More grade level parties coming this afternoon!

5th grade mathematicians collaborating, using academic vocabulary, & working together in vertical spaces. 🧑🏫🐾

3rd grade synergizing during groups to justify their answers & understand compound words. Great job, 3rd grade!

Ms. Graves' kindergarten crew is rocking math station time! 🔢🐾

We are so grateful for Rose Heights Church! They stocked our lounge with yummy treats and drinks to fuel our first week! Thank you, Rose Heights!

It's Tuesday, so here's our next edition of Rootin' Tootin' Tuesday where we recognize some of our amazing Clarkston staff members who go above and beyond for our campus. 🐾This week we are celebrating Ms. Katie 🎨and our Cafe Ladies 😋https://www.canva.com/design/DAGxMsIkofc/YwCGv7Ppc2Lq5XqOnQ08ww/watch?utm_content=DAGxMsIkofc&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=hc62533fb5b

📚✏️ Mrs. Craft’s class has been hard at work becoming text detectives! Today, students practiced citing evidence from their passages to support their answers.
Using their reading notebooks, they highlighted key details, wrote down text evidence, and explained how it connected to the questions. 💡 Watching them carefully read, discuss, and back up their ideas shows how much their critical thinking skills are growing!
These students are learning that strong readers don’t just have answers—they prove them with evidence straight from the text. 👏

🔬✨ Mrs. Johnson’s class became scientists today as they explored solutions in a hands-on lab! Students worked together to mix different materials, make predictions, and record their observations.
💡 From stirring, pouring, and testing, to collaborating and discussing results—our young scientists were fully engaged and excited to discover how solutions work. The best learning happens when students get to explore, question, and find answers for themselves!
We are so proud of their teamwork and curiosity in action! 🌟

✨ Today, our 4th grade students used the extra time at the end of class for something special—kindness! 💕 Each student created a short writing piece where they wrote something nice about a classmate. This activity was an idea from one of the students in Mrs. Browning's 4th grade class!
The smiles, encouragement, and thoughtful words filled the room with positivity. 🌟 It’s amazing to see how a few kind words can brighten someone’s whole day!
📝💬 This is a great reminder that taking time to lift others up is always time well spent.
