🚒 Our Pre-K students had an exciting field trip to Tyler Fire Station #10! They toured the station, explored the firefighters’ tools, and learned all about the daily life of a firefighter. ❤️👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 Thank you to our local heroes for making learning come to life in such a fun and meaningful way!

📚✏️ Learning in action! In Mrs. Daniell’s PK Class, students are exploring library books at a station and identifying the most common words they recognize from Reading Horizons. It’s exciting to see them apply their skills and make real connections through reading! 💡📖

Yesterday, our 3rd & 4th grades wrote all of their worries down & threw them away. Then, 3rd created a chain of strengths & 4th created worry stones to hold when they get discouraged. We are so proud of our learners & can't wait to see them SHINE bright today! So grateful for our amazing teachers bringing love to our classrooms during stressful times! ❤️🐾

🎉🌟 Representing Clarkston Elementary with pride! 🌟🎉 Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Kinney had an incredible time at Youth Code Jam hosted by UT Tyler, sharing their passion for STEM and robotics with students across East Texas! 🤖💡 From augmented reality using Merge Cubes to hands-on challenges with Dash & Dot Robots—including Winter Olympics Hockey 🏒 and Egg Launch fun 🥚🚀—they showcased the innovative learning happening right here at our school. We’re so proud of the amazing opportunities our students experience every day! 💙✨

📚✨ Craft’s 4th Grade Reading in Action! ✨📚 Our students participated in a “Lines, Dots, & Squares” STAAR Review, and the engagement was incredible! 🙌 Students worked collaboratively using their strategies to break down questions, support their answers, and explain their thinking. 🧠💬 We saw: • Strong reading comprehension skills • Meaningful student discussions • Students supporting and learning from one another 🤝 This activity allowed students to take ownership of their learning while building confidence as we prepare for STAAR. 🏅🎉 Our Olympic-themed pep rally had everyone fired up and ready for the STAAR test! Students competed in speed skating on paper plates, raced through an inflatable obstacle course, and even tried their hand at human curling. 🥌💨 The energy was high, the laughs were loud, and our students are ready to go for the gold on STAAR! 🏆📚

🌿🐒 Kindergarten Takes on The Jungle Book! 🐍🌿 Our kindergarteners had the BEST day at the Cowan Center watching The Jungle Book! 🎭✨ From the moment the curtain opened, our students were completely engaged—laughing, clapping, and soaking in every moment of the adventure! 🐅🐻 🌟 Highlights from our trip: • Seeing their excitement as the story came to life on stage • Practicing great audience behavior 👏 • Making memories with friends 💛 • And of course… LOTS of smiles! 😄 Experiences like this help bring learning beyond the classroom and create moments our students will never forget. ✨ 5th Grade Math in Action! ✨ Today our students worked on vertical boards, and WOW… the thinking, collaboration, and conversations were next level! 🙌 🧠 Students used reference sheets to guide their thinking 🗣️ Engaged in meaningful math discussions 🤝 Worked together to solve problems and explain their reasoning Instead of just getting answers, they were justifying, questioning, and learning from each other—exactly what real mathematicians do! 💡Good job Mrs. Lewis' 5th grade mathematicians! Clarkston Coding Club took on an Eggstravagant Coding Challenge with two exciting projects! From launching eggs into baskets using precise angles and coding 🤖 to navigating mazes and collecting eggs, students showed off their teamwork and problem-solving skills.

They even applied middle school math by collecting data, calculating percentages, and creating color-coded pie charts 📊—proving our young learners are building strong STEM skills early! 🚀

After a long day, our staff enjoyed a little friendly competition with an egg hunt after school today! 💛 The only twist…our Amazon delivery arrived late, so we celebrated a little after Easter—but that didn’t stop the fun! 😂📦 Laughter, teamwork, and a whole lot of eggs made for the perfect way to wrap up the day! 🥚🎉 #StaffFun #BetterLateThanNever

🍭✨ Sweet Learning in 4th Grade! ✨🍭 On Monday, our students stepped into a life-size Candy Land adventure—and let me tell you… the engagement was next level! Students chose their own game pieces and moved along our colorful path while completing tasks, solving problems, and working together every step of the way. From laptops to teamwork to a little bit of friendly competition, this was learning brought to life! 🎲💻 We saw: 🍬 Collaboration 🍬 Critical thinking 🍬 Movement + engagement 🍬 LOTS of smiles and laughter And of course… a little classroom chaos that turned into meaningful learning (the best kind 😉).
