Our Coding Club students recently completed their exciting *Winter Olympics Dash Shootout* project! Teams built hockey goals with K’Nex, created hockey sticks with Legos, attached them to their Dash robots, and coded them to shoot and score from different spots on the rink. 🥅
This hands-on STEM challenge strengthened teamwork, problem-solving, and coding skills — all while having a blast! We are so proud of the creativity, perseverance, and innovation our students showed throughout this project! 👏✨

📚✨ In Case You Missed It… Our Living History Museum!
Students researched influential African-American historical figures, created trifold projects, and delivered speeches—many even dressed the part! As families toured, students confidently shared their learning and brought history to life.
Thank you to our amazing parents and families for helping with projects, practicing speeches, and supporting this special event! 👏🏽✨

In case you missed it! 😮💨
Ms. Katie’s 5th grade art students have been hard at work using clay to design and create their own functional whistles! This unique art form dates back thousands of years, giving students the opportunity to connect their creativity with history while learning new techniques in sculpture and design.
Even more impressive, this is a higher-level project typically introduced in middle school — and our 5th graders are rising to the challenge beautifully. Their focus, problem-solving, and craftsmanship have truly been on display throughout this hands-on experience! 🎨👏

✏️📚 Ms. Graves’ kindergarten class took their writing to the next level today! Using picture writing prompts, students carefully studied the images and turned their ideas into complete sentences. 🖼️➡️📝 It was amazing to see their creativity come to life as they transformed what they saw into written words. We are so proud of these growing writers! 🌟👏

Today our Student Lighthouse Team took time to lead with heart 💙
They wrote handwritten notes of gratitude to our 3rd–5th grade teachers, thanking them for the time, encouragement, and belief they pour into our students every single day. They also shared words of affirmation with their peers as they prepare for tomorrow’s district reading benchmark.
When students encourage teachers… and students encourage students… that’s leadership in action.
We are proud of our leaders for reminding everyone:
✨ You are prepared.
✨ You are capable.
✨ You can do hard things.
Let’s go show what we know tomorrow! 📚💪

🏒❄️ Coding Club is bringing the Winter Olympics to life! 🇺🇸
Students built their own hockey goals and sticks, then are coding their Dash and Dot robots to maneuver across the rink and score a goal! We love seeing their creativity and problem-solving in action. 💡 #CodingClub #STEMInAction

Mrs. Anderson’s 3rd grade math students are proving that learning never stops! 👏📚
Even with a fire drill, tornado drill, and a field trip on the schedule, there was no wasted instructional time in her classroom. Before heading out, her students were up and actively showing their math thinking on vertical learning boards—engaged, collaborating, and confidently explaining their strategies!
Way to maximize every minute and keep the focus on learning, Mrs. Anderson! 💙✨

Mrs. Craft’s 4th grade reading students are leveling up their thinking! 📚✨
Yesterday, students worked on hexagonal thinking to strengthen their text connection skills and boost their performance data on this standard. They carefully created their webs, making meaningful connections between ideas, while Mrs. Craft provided feedback to push their thinking even deeper.
Tomorrow, they’ll take it a step further by creating a video to upload to Google Classroom, explaining their entire web and the connections they made. We love seeing students take ownership of their learning and grow in their ability to think critically about what they read! 💙📖

🏀🔥 Nothing but NET… knowledge! 🔥🏀
Miss Browning’s 4th graders took content knowledge to the court with a fast-paced game of Trashketball! 🗑️🏀
Every correct answer earned them a shot at the hoop — and let’s just say, these scholars are bringing their A-game! From buzzer-beater brainpower to slam-dunk strategies, they’re reviewing, collaborating, and shooting for success on their upcoming test. 📚💪
Who knew science class could feel like the playoffs? 🏆

Mrs. Becker's class helped spread the love to our staff Friday! They hand delivered roses and a Valentine's Day message with bright smiles! ❤️😊

Mrs. Wheeler’s 2nd graders earned a sweet reward! 🥤🍋🍋
After working hard and scoring well on their first math district unit assessment, they celebrated with a special “Hydration Station” treat. We’re so proud of their effort and success! 💙📚

Mrs. Utz’s Pre-K class shared the sweetest Valentine activity! 💕 Students did their very best to write a kind word to describe each of their classmates, adding loving notes to one another’s papers. They’re building early writing skills while learning how powerful kind words can be. 💌✨

💘 We were down to ONE! 💘
Our annual “Find Your Match” game had just one staff member still searching for her match! 👀
We hope that all of our families have a great Valentine's Day with your favorite people!
