💙 Happy Substitute Appreciation Day💛
Today we celebrate the amazing substitutes who step into our classrooms with patience, flexibility, and a heart for kids. Our school runs smoother and our students thrive because of YOU.

We’re so proud of their curiosity and future-ready mindset! 💚💛 #AVID #CollegeBound

We have some awesome news from the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge! In this event, 158 teams from schools in Jacksonville, Chapel Hill, Whitehouse, and Tyler ISD got a million-dollar virtual portfolio to buy, sell, and trade stocks—all in just one hour, which represented two months in the stock market!
Our Birdwell teams crushed it!
A big shoutout to Amy Oliva, Angie Garcia, Myriam Hernandez, and Scarlet Hansen, who stayed in 3rd place for most of the competition and earned the Junior Achievement Spirit Award for their amazing teamwork and performance!
Also, congratulations to Andres Mondragon, Levi Quirona, and Michel Ortega, who made a huge comeback and finished 64th out of 158 teams—and even made a profit on their portfolio!
We’re super proud of all our students for their hard work, teamwork, and spirit. Way to represent Birdwell!

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day! 🇺🇸
Today, we honor and thank all who have served our country with courage and dedication. Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School is grateful for the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. Your service and commitment to protecting our freedoms inspire us every day. ❤️🤍💙

Ms. Fallad’s class learned about the voting process today and put their knowledge into action by participating in a mock election! 🗳️📚 Students cast their votes for their favorite book — Crisantemo or Alma y cómo obtuvo su nombre. Which one do you think won? 💛

Part 2 of the 55th day of school!!

Birdwell Dual Language Immersion 2nd and 3rd graders went back in time to the 1950s to celebrate the 55th day of school in style! The halls were filled with poodle skirts, leather jackets, and classic tunes as students enjoyed a fun-filled “’50s Car Show” and danced along to La Bamba.
Adding to the excitement, Mr. Yun channeled his inner Elvis with a special performance that had everyone singing along! Parents joined in the fun, volunteering to serve delicious Coke floats while dressed in their own 1950s-inspired outfits.
It was a rockin’ good time celebrating 55 days of learning and fun at Birdwell! 🎶💃🕺

💀🌼 To celebrate the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), our Pre-K students learned how to make papel picado and created their own Catrina masks—just like in the tradition! 🎨✨

🎃📚 Congratulations to our Storybook Pumpkin Contest winners! Your creativity brought our favorite book characters to life in the library! Thank you to everyone who participated — we loved seeing your amazing pumpkins and book-inspired designs! 🍂✨

Our 6th grade students took a tour of UT Tyler and explored a campus right here in Tyler🦅 #swoopswoop
