These students competed against participants from four other districts, and all three Birdwell students placed in the Top 3, earning their spot at the State Spanish Spelling Bee in June in El Paso! 🏆📚
The competition required spelling extremely challenging words in Spanish, and their success is a true testament to their hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We also want to recognize the amazing support and guidance from their teachers — Mrs. Perez, Mrs. Gurrusquieta, and Mrs. Salas — who helped make this achievement possible. 💙

Our Birdwell students spent time learning about and remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., reflecting on his dream and what it means in their own lives. From thoughtful conversations to meaningful activities, our students were reminded that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Today on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we are so grateful for Officer Matthew Ranshaw, our dedicated school resource officer. Our Kindergarten students brought learning to life with this colorful piñata project! 🎉 As part of their SLAR lessons, they used the piñata to practice sequencing events—first, next, then, and last. Hands-on learning makes literacy fun!
The library was transformed into a Polar Express adventure yesterday, and our students were first-class passengers! From cozy jammies to wide-eyed excitement, it was a magical day filled with stories, imagination, and holiday cheer. We love creating memories like these that make reading come alive. 🎄📚✨and thank you PTA for helping us make this a success!!!
