high school age girls holding poinsettias

The Tyler Legacy Softball team shared the spirit of Christmas by teaming up with the Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs to help deliver over 1000 poinsettias to the Tyler community. This annual fundraiser helps Boshears with equipment, programming and special activities for their students.

“We are always trying to find ways for our program to help others,” Coach Justin Kniffen said. “One of our themes is ‘Being a part of something that is bigger than ourselves’ and this was a wonderful way not only to live out that program theme, but also to help out with one of the major fundraisers that Boshears has."

Coach Kniffen shared his excitement about the partnership and Boshears Director Brooke Parker expressed her gratitude toward the Legacy softball team for all their hard work.

It is important to have partnerships with groups like the Legacy Softball Team because it allows us to continue this tradition of delivering larger orders to the community,” Ms. Parker said. “It also gives the team an opportunity to give back to the community and support students that are not able to deliver the poinsettias themselves.”

Coach Kniffen and Ms. Parker plan to continue their partnership into 2023 with other future events.
