The Cosmetology Salon at the Career & Technology Center (CTC) is opening to the public. Salon hours will be on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. beginning Saturday, December 10. The students who are seniors this year, and well on their way to becoming licensed professionals, will gain hands-on experience while providing $10 facials and $10 haircuts.

"By having real clients in their chairs, our students continue to hone their expertise,” Cosmetology Teacher/Instructional Lead Leslie Pryor said. “They also learn the importance of good customer service and how working in an actual salon will feel when they graduate and go off into the professional world."

More than two hundred students in the CTC's cosmetology program are learning and getting credit toward their license. Once they graduate, they'll be able to work doing what they love. Other students plan on cosmetology as something they can do while attending college or as a backup career.

Appointments for haircuts and facials can be made by calling (903)262-1910. Please note that only cash payments are accepted. Patrons can park in visitor parking in the front of the building and enter at the large green Cosmetology sign on the right.
