The 2022 Tyler ISD District Elementary Teacher of the Year and Secondary Teacher of the Year were welcomed at City Hall Wednesday morning by Mayor Don Warren. La’Shunda Wright from Andy Woods Elementary School and Alejandra Grijalva from Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School were invited to the city council meeting to receive the Proclamation for World Teachers’ Day from Mayor Warren and city council members.
Mayor Warren expressed how he and other city council members enjoy visiting campuses and reading to students. He shared how it’s educators like Wright and Grijalva who make a difference in the lives of Tyler’s children.
