A Celebration of Survival held at Tyler High just after sunrise was well-attended. One student and three staff members who all survived cancer received wild applause from guests.

The drill team, cheerleaders, and band performed to the crowd's excitement. The football players gathered for the pep rally, ready for the big game under the lights later in the day.

Some of the most enthusiastic was the almost one hundred students from Dixie Elementary attending as a prize for donating 3000 cans to the Lions food drive earlier this year.

Dixie Principal, Ms. Kimberly Simmons, a former Tyler High graduate, showed her school spirit as she reunited with her friends on the field.
