Five Jones Elementary School students were the first of almost sixty to receive new Under Armour shoes from TradeHome at Broadway Square Mall.

Jones Principal Crain was elated to learn of the generous donation and kept it a surprise for her students.

Jones Elementary School was fortunate to receive the most nominations from customers at TradeHome Shoes from a community support effort that started about a year ago through a program called Give at Home/Trade at Home.

Store Manager Mitchell Trundle is no stranger to supporting his community.  He said growing up with a sister with Cerebral Palsy instilled the importance of helping anyone with a need.  He spent his childhood volunteering and working on projects that supported families.  As store manager, he’s proud to work for an employee-owned company that continues that philanthropic work.

Shoes will be distributed to students based on need (counselor, nurse, or teacher referrals) and through incentive drawings for academics and/or positive behavior, including the September Elementary Student of the Month Maya Subia.
