Boshears Staff and Students Make Biscuits for Therapet Dogs

It's an easy recipe that anyone can make at home - even you!  Boshears students have been baking biscuits for their Therapet four-legged friends for almost a decade. The activity began as a way to show their canine companions appreciation for the special bond they have built through regular campus visits.

Therapet and Boshears staff worked together to develop a batter safe for humans to eat that also contains no peanuts to avoid any allergic reactions. The recipe uses words and pictures to help teach reading, math, and functional skills.

Kids measure, mix and press the biscuits into doggy-shaped bones.

If you bake a batch for your favorite dog, email us a picture to share!

For those without time or skills in the kitchen, you can purchase the treats at the Therapet store located at 225 E. Amherst in Tyler.  You can get 25 snacks for just $5.
