Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School is where dreams are spoken in two languages. Birdwell is a language-rich environment that engages pre-K through 8th-grade students in English and Spanish curriculum across subjects. Research shows that language acquisition begins in early childhood.
Using Birdwell's systematic approach, students can succeed in a Dual Language Program regardless of their first language. Whether families are looking to begin the dual language experience in pre-K or are transferring from a dual language program, Birdwell is the only PK-8th Dual Language campus in East Texas.
Caldwell Arts Academy develops the exceptional artist within a child. Art is incorporated into every aspect of a student's day at Caldwell. This choice school is widely regarded as East Texas' leading drama, music, and dance magnet school. Caldwell Arts Academy is tuition-free, with one campus offering elementary grades K-5 and middle school grades 6-8.
Early College High School (ECHS) offers students dual credit, and as a choice school also provides dual completion. Students earn a college degree and graduate with a high school diploma at the same time through a partnership with Tyler Junior College. Instead of only receiving college credits, students can earn 60 college hours to complete one of ten available degree plans. This choice school provides a $30,000 college tuition value with absolutely no student debt.
The most exciting thing about these Choice Schools is that children do NOT need to live in the Tyler ISD district to apply and be accepted.
