On December 2, over 1,300 Tyler ISD 8th graders had a chance to participate in the inaugural CTE Exploration event at the Career & Technology Center. Each Tyler ISD middle school brought students during set blocks of time to explore the incredible variety of programs of study. Their campus visit included a CTE 101 seminar, tour, and a student-led Program of Study Fair where they could talk to high school students about each area of study. From engineering to veterinary studies, Tyler ISD students create their high school four-year plans in January, and 9th graders take a CTE Principles class the first year to get an overview of their program choice. There are a total of 26 Programs of Study in Tyler ISD. Check out the videos to learn more about each of these programs.
