Dr. Marty Crawford in front of a microphone

In the latest edition of the Talks with Tyler ISD podcast, Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford joins host Jennifer Hines to talk about where Tyler ISD is headed this school year.

After requiring in-person learning for most of last school year, Dr. Crawford reflects on student success compared to other districts throughout the state. He examines the district's plan as the new school year is well underway.

"Last year was a very successful year," Crawford said. "There was some learning regression, but we certainly, because we were in person most of the year, didn’t see that regression like our peers did across the State. East Texas really was the vanguard in regard to valuing in-person learning."

Dr. Crawford is proud of the students and staff and what they have done in the classroom despite many distractions.

Student success, decisions in Austin, and the guidance of the Tyler ISD School Board are all part of the discussion.
