We want to hire you on the spot! Newly graduated? No problem

Tyler ISD principals and administrators are looking for the best and brightest educators in various certification levels. The annual Tyler ISD Teacher Job Fair will take place on Saturday, April 17, at Tyler Legacy High School. The teacher job fair will feature all Tyler ISD campuses and allow candidates to discuss current and future openings with school administrators.

“As we prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, we are looking for strong educators whose primary goal is to help students succeed,” Executive Director of Human Resources Sherri Barberee-Taylor said. “Candidates can view our current openings on our website, but as administrators continue to plan and set their campus goals over the coming weeks, more positions usually open depending on those needs.”

Candidates will need to register and upload their information ahead of time. Once registration is complete, the candidate will receive a QR code to keep on their phone or print off. No more keeping up with copies of a resume!

“We are excited about this new format,” Barberee-Taylor added. “When a candidate walks up to a school booth, the administrator will scan the candidate’s QR code. All of the candidate’s information will display electronically, basically allowing for the interviewing process to begin right there at the table.”

As one of the top five employers in our community, Tyler ISD is also one of the highest payers for educators in the area. Teacher salaries begin at over $44,000 for first-year teachers, and teachers in specialized areas such as secondary math, secondary science, and bilingual receive additional stipends of up to $3,000. The District also privately funds its health insurance plans saving employees on average $600 a month or $7,200 a year for families.

Candidates planning to attend the Tyler ISD Teacher Job Fair need to register online at www.careers.tylerisd.org. Computers will be accessible at the event for those who need assistance with the registration process. COVID protocols will be in place.
