For the seventeenth consecutive year, Tyler ISD has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for our Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year that ended August 31, 2019. The recognition is awarded from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“The Financial Services Department of Tyler ISD takes pride in being transparent and providing valuable, useful information to the community with regard to the District’s financial operations and stewardship of resources entrusted to it by the taxpayers of Tyler ISD,” Executive Director of Financial Services Mary Russell said. “It is an honor to be recognized, once again, for excellence in financial reporting by a national organization that evaluates the annual financial reports of governmental entities of all types.”
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
