Tyler ISD, in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Services, proudly recognizes Faithful Care Learning Center as the October 2026 B.R.I.D.G.E. Partner of the Month. B.R.I.D.G.E. stands for Businesses Reaching Individuals Determined to Gain Employment. Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations like Faithful Care Learning Center, Tyler ISD and Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Services help young adults with all abilities develop transferable job skills and prepare for greater independence and employment success beyond high school.
Through this partnership, two LINK 18+ interns are developing valuable workplace skills while contributing to the daily operations of the learning center. Each student brings unique strengths and talents to the workplace, demonstrating how meaningful employment experiences can help young adults build confidence, discover their interests, and prepare for future opportunities.

One intern has a natural connection with the younger children and especially enjoys interacting with them throughout the day. From helping with snack time and nap time to supporting play centers and assisting with crafts, she brings enthusiasm and a caring presence to the classroom. Her internship provides opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, responsibility, and the interpersonal skills that are valuable in a variety of career settings.

The second intern plays an important role in keeping the learning center clean, organized, and ready for the children and teachers. He enjoys sweeping, sanitizing toys, wiping down tables, and even helping teachers by cutting lamination for classroom materials. Through these daily responsibilities, he is strengthening his attention to detail, learning workplace routines, and developing practical skills that can transfer to a variety of employment settings.
Together, these students demonstrate that there is no single path to workplace success. By building on individual interests and strengths, the LINK 18+ program helps students gain hands-on experience, develop greater independence, and explore the many ways they can contribute to a team. Faithful Care Learning Center has shared how much they enjoy welcoming the LINK interns and providing opportunities for them to learn. Their willingness to include students in the daily rhythm of the center creates a supportive environment where learning happens through meaningful work, encouragement, and real responsibilities.
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and this yearβs national theme, βCelebrating Value and Talent,β is a message worth celebrating all year long. Partnerships like this one demonstrate what that looks like in action: recognizing individual strengths, creating meaningful opportunities, and ensuring young adults with all abilities have the chance to learn, contribute, and grow.
Tyler ISD is grateful to Faithful Care Learning Center for investing in our students and helping build a more inclusive workforce. By welcoming our interns and giving them opportunities to practice real-world skills, Faithful Care is helping students turn their abilities into possibilities for the future. At Tyler ISD, we donβt just celebrate value and talent in October - we celebrate it every month by building partnerships, creating opportunities, and helping every student move toward a future filled with possibility.
