Three Tyler ISD student artists had their work featured in the 2026 txEDCON Exhibition, presented by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). The exhibition took place October 8 - 11 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston during the joint conference of the Texas Association of School Administrators and the Texas Association of School Boards.

The following students represented Tyler ISD with their selected artwork:

β€œThere is a lot of effort behind every finished piece of student artwork, and this recognition makes that effort even more rewarding,” Tyler ISD Visual & Performing Arts Director Luke Dean said. β€œBelle, Colin, and Aubrey should feel proud knowing their work was selected to represent our district. We are excited to celebrate these students and the teachers who helped them achieve this honor.”

Presented through TAEA’s Youth Art Month Program, the exhibition showcased artwork by students in Pre-K through 12th grade from school districts and private schools across Texas. The collection gave conference attendees an opportunity to experience student creativity while highlighting the importance of quality visual arts education.

For the three Tyler ISD artists, the exhibition provided an opportunity to share their work with education leaders from across the state. Their selection celebrated their artistic achievement and the classroom instruction that helped them develop their skills.

Tyler ISD will continue encouraging students to explore their artistic interests, strengthen their techniques, and pursue opportunities to share their work beyond their campuses.
