Congratulations to Zander Garcia, 3rd grade student at Dixie Elementary School, for being named the District Elementary Student of the Month.
Zander is an exceptional third-grade student who truly embodies what it means to be a Dixie Dragon. He is a high-achieving student, natural leader, loyal friend, and positive presence on campus.
Zander has a genuine love for learning, especially science. He gets excited about new topics, asks thoughtful questions, and loves connecting new information to what he already knows. He is always eager to share interesting facts with classmates and teachers, and his enthusiasm inspires others to get excited about learning, too.
Zander is also an outstanding writer and creative thinker. As a member of the Creative Writing Team, he uses his imagination to develop original ideas and bring them to life through his writing. He is confident in sharing his ideas and isn't afraid to think outside the box.
Academically, Zander strives for excellence and takes pride in his work. Just as importantly, he wants those around him to succeed. He is always willing to help, encourage his classmates, and offers a helping hand. His natural leadership, independence, and willingness to take initiative make him someone others can count on.
Beyond the classroom, Zander is friendly, social, and genuinely kind. He builds positive relationships with students and adults alike. He makes a point to greet adults, ask how they are doing, and engage in meaningful conversations with them, demonstrating a level of confidence, maturity, and respect that stands out.
Zander is the kind of student who makes his school a better place. He is curious, creative, responsible, hardworking, and kind. Most importantly, he brings positivity, enthusiasm, and a true Dixie Dragon spirit to campus every day.
The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.
Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
