Tyler ISD is proud to announce that Executive Director of College and Career, Dr. Kristen Walls, has been named the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) Area 3 Administrator of the Year for Regions 7 and 8.
Dr. Walls was nominated by her peers and selected through a regional vote conducted by CTAT Area 3 members. As the regional recipient, she will now advance to the state-level competition, which will take place in July.
The CTAT Administrator of the Year award recognizes outstanding career and technical education leaders who have demonstrated excellence in supporting teacher and student success while advancing innovative and effective CTE programs. Eligible candidates include administrators, coordinators, specialists, and education professionals who are actively leading career and technical education initiatives at the local, district, regional, state, or federal level.
Recipients are evaluated on several criteria, including contributions to teacher and student success, innovation in career and technical education, and leadership within the local and broader CTE community.
Under Dr. Wallsβ leadership, Tyler ISD has continued expanding opportunities for students through strong college, career, and workforce pathways. Her commitment to preparing students for future success has strengthened partnerships, enhanced programming, and created meaningful experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world careers.
