More than 375 third through fifth grade students from Griffin Elementary School stepped into the world of career exploration during an exciting morning at the Tyler ISD Career & Technology Center (CTC) for the annual CTExperience event.
The interactive experience introduced students to a variety of career pathways through engaging, hands-on lessons led by CTC instructors and supported by student Junior Ambassadors. Throughout the morning, students rotated through three different programs with their homeroom classes, giving them the opportunity to explore future careers in a fun and meaningful way.
From welding sparks and automotive demonstrations to culinary creations and digital media projects, students experienced firsthand how classroom learning connects to real-world careers. Programs featured during the event included cosmetology, automotive technology, health science, education, welding, animal science, culinary arts, information technology, plumbing, law enforcement, digital communications, engineering, construction, and business management.
The event was designed to spark curiosity and help younger students begin thinking about the many opportunities available to them as they grow through Tyler ISD’s college and career pathways. CTC Junior Ambassadors played a key role throughout the day, guiding classes through the building, assisting with activities, and serving as positive role models for the visiting students.
Students arrived at the CTC eager to explore and quickly immersed themselves in the interactive activities planned by each pathway instructor. Whether learning basic medical skills, exploring engineering concepts, or discovering how technology powers communication and business, students were encouraged to ask questions, collaborate, and think creatively.
The CTExperience event continues to serve as an important bridge between elementary education and future career opportunities, helping students connect their interests and talents to potential professions at an early age. By introducing career-focused learning in an engaging environment, Tyler ISD is helping students envision exciting possibilities for their futures while building enthusiasm for learning along the way.
