For Tristen, success has never been measured by numbers alone. While graduating ranked sixth in his class with a 3.91 GPA is certainly an accomplishment, the qualities that define him most are resilience, humility, and the way he consistently shows up for others.
This fall, Tristen plans to attend the University of North Texas, where he will major in Graphic Design, combining creativity with the same determination that has guided him throughout high school. His journey reflects not only academic excellence, but also a commitment to growth in every area of life.
That mindset has shaped his experience both inside and outside the classroom. Ranked in the top of his graduating class, Tristen earned a place in the prestigious Night of Shining Stars recognition program, an honor that celebrates some of the district’s highest-achieving students. Yet those who know him best say his impact reaches far beyond academics.
Teachers and mentors describe Tristen as an exceptional young man whose character leaves a lasting impression. Known for being polite, respectful, and mature beyond his years, he is someone who consistently uplifts those around him, even while navigating his own challenges.
“Tristen is the kind of student who leaves a lasting impression,” his counselor, Lavette Lloyd shared. “He’s someone I will always remember and proudly share stories about to inspire future students.”
His dedication extends into athletics and leadership as well. A standout in football and powerlifting, Tristen earned 2nd Team All-District honors as a defensive lineman and was also named 2nd Team All-State Academics for football, balancing the demands of competition with excellence in the classroom.
Beyond athletics, Tristen remained deeply involved in organizations focused on leadership and service, including Sources of Strength and Omega Lamplighters. This year, he was also recognized as a member of the Tyler Rotary Young Citizens Club and named a KTBB Scholastic All Star.
While his accomplishments are impressive, those closest to Tristen say what truly sets him apart is the example he sets for others. Whether supporting teammates, encouraging family members, or leading by quiet example, he carries himself with a sense of purpose and integrity that inspires the people around him.
As he prepares for the next chapter at UNT, Tristen hopes to continue growing both creatively and personally. His story is one of perseverance, leadership, and character — proof that true success is not only about achievement, but about the impact you leave on others along the way.
