Tyler Legacy High School honored four senior student-athletes as they signed their letter of intent to play collegiate athletics on Wednesday afternoon. The signing ceremony took place in the varsity gymnasium in front of family, coaches, and teammates.
Nichole Baldwin, Girls Basketball β Austin College
Accolades: 2026 10-6A First Team All-District, 2025 10-6A Second Team All-District, 3x Academic All-District
Tyler Legacy Girls Basketball Head Coach Ross Barber: βNichole is one of the hardest-working kids that I have ever coached, and getting an opportunity to play at the next level is something that she truly earned. She was always the last to leave the gym, and Nichole, her mother, and brother worked countless hours to get to this point. She has developed her game to be a true inside and outside threat. There is no doubt Austin College is not only getting a great player, but a better human being.β
Mario Delgado, Boys Soccer β Hesston College
Accolades: 2026 10-6A First Team All-District, 2025 10-6A Honorable Mention All-District
Tyler Legacy Boys Soccer Head Coach Martin Germany: βMario will be a strong asset for the Hesston Boys Soccer program. He is a versatile player who can play any field position, and his speed and change of pace will help him adapt at the collegiate level. He has a bright future ahead of him.β
Brady Pollard, Baseball β University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
Accolades: 2025 10-5A First Team All-District, 2024 First Team All-District, (2026 results not released yet)
Tyler Legacy Baseball Head Coach VJ Bunner: βBrady is one of the finest young men Iβve had the privilege to coach, and his commitment to UMHB is a direct reflection of his character and work ethic. He approaches the game with a level of discipline, humility, and consistency that every coach hopes to see in their player. He doesnβt cut corners, puts in the extra work, and leads our team by example. He has a positive and team-first attitude no matter the situation. No one is more deserving of the success heβs had this season, and I have no doubt that he will continue to represent himself and his family well at the next stage.β
Cale Zips, Baseball β Tyler Junior College
Accolades: 2025 10-6A Second Team All-District, 2024 10-6A First Team All-District
Tyler Legacy Baseball Head Coach VJ Bunner: βCaleβs commitment to Tyler Junior College is a testament to the resilience and determination heβs shown throughout his career. He has faced adversity, including injuries every fall, but he never allowed that to define him. In my years of coaching, it is a rare privilege to have a young man with such strong character, and that same character has allowed him the opportunity to play at TJC. Cale leads by a standard of quiet, unwavering action, showing true leadership is found in how you handle yourself when no one is watching. Heβs not only a great player, but an even better young man, and he has an incredibly bright future in his next step.β
