middle school girl with long red hair in classroom

Congratulations to Atley Caldwell, 6th grade student at Hubbard Middle School, for being named District Secondary Student of the Month.

Atley exemplifies the very best of the Hubbard student bodyβ€”she is kind, respectful, hardworking, and a quiet leader who consistently sets a positive example for her peers.

Atley’s teachers consistently describe her as a model student. She approaches each day with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and genuine respect for others. In every settingβ€”whether in the classroom, on campus, or in orchestraβ€”Atley demonstrates maturity beyond her years. She is mindful, responsible, and attentive, not only with people but also with the materials and instruments entrusted to her care.

Outside of the classroom, Atley continues to shine. She is a Level Four gymnast who participates in the Junior Olympics at her gym, an active member of the school’s Bible Club and her church youth group, and a student who lives out her values daily. She never hesitates to go the extra mile for others. Whether it's stepping in to clean up a mess without being asked or quietly helping a peer in need, Atley does so without seeking praise or recognition. These actions are simply a reflection of the strong character and compassion she embodies.

Atley’s leadership is quiet but influential. Her willingness to take initiative and care for her school community sets her apart as an outstanding candidate for this honor. She leads not with her words, but through her consistent, thoughtful actions.

It is rare to encounter a student who so naturally integrates academic diligence, extracurricular dedication, and personal integrity the way Atley does.

Below are just a few of the quotes regarding Atley from her teachers:

"Atley is always kind and polite. She is smart and she moves around the orchestra room with care for the instruments and her peers. She pays attention to instructions and always does her best. She has been improving constantly and is becoming a reference for her colleagues in her orchestra."

"Atley is an amazing student who is very respectful to others and loves to help her peers. She always turns in her work and tries her hardest. She is very involved in Bible club as well"

"YAY!! She's the BEST! Atley strives to be the best she can be by leading quietly through her actions. She consistently follows the expectations of being safe, respectful, and responsible. She also demonstrates integrity by doing the right thing even when no one is watching. For example, if a classmate makes a mess, Atley is quick to step in and help clean it up. Beyond her behavior, she shows a strong desire to learn and grow. She asks thoughtful questions, takes her time to do quality work, and uses her notes to guide her understanding. This hard work has already paid off, as she is meeting the growth goal set for her on last year’s STAAR assessment."

The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System

Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
