A courtroom filled with cheers, happy tears, and heartfelt applause marked a life-changing moment for 11-year-old Cain Coles on Friday morning, February 20, 2026. At 9 a.m., inside the courtroom of Robert Wilson, Cain was officially adopted by Vandria and Tyrone Johnson in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and classmates.

The adoption took place in the 321st District Court where nearly 45 fifth-grade students from Bell Elementary, where Cain attends school, filled the courtroom seats to support their friend. Their presence made the celebration even more meaningful, creating an atmosphere of love and encouragement that Cain will never forget.

Originally from Paris, Texas, Cain was placed in the Johnsonsβ home in February 2024. Since that day, he has become an integral part of their family.
βCain is a joy to have around everywhere he goes,β his adoptive parents shared. βHe is kind, helpful and most spiritual. He is a member of Shiloh Road Church of Christ, where he serves communion every Sunday and is a greeter. He loves to help any way he can. He especially likes to wear his suits.β

The ceremony ended with smiles and celebration as Cainβs name was officially changed to Alexander Kaine Johnsonβa new name marking the beginning of a permanent, loving chapter in his life.
