Congratulations to our District Elementary Teacher of Month, Katrina Washington, a 2nd grade Reading Language Arts teacher at Bell Elementary School.
Mrs. Washington is recognized for her outstanding leadership, professionalism, and commitment to building a positive school culture. She is an invaluable leader and mentor on her campus, consistently going above and beyond to support students, staff, and the greater school community.
Mrs. Washington has excelled in her roles as a Lighthouse Team member, Leadership Action Team Chair, and Bella Girl Sponsor. As a leader on the Lighthouse Team, she played a vital role in organizing the campus’s annual canned food drive. Through her leadership, encouragement, and ability to mobilize others, the school collected nearly 900 pounds of food to support families in the community—an achievement that reflects her dedication to service and teamwork.
As a Bella Girl sponsor, Mrs. Washington is a constant source of encouragement and guidance for students. She is actively involved in monthly meetings and led the group’s Christmas card fundraiser this year, helping students develop leadership skills while fostering compassion and community involvement.
Known for her professionalism and positive demeanor, Mrs. Washington approaches every challenge with enthusiasm and a willingness to collaborate. She is always eager to brainstorm solutions when a need arises and is a trusted leader among her peers.
