Students at Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School are embracing the true spirit of the season by making a meaningful difference in the lives of local children. This year, the campusβ Student Lighthouse Team chose to use funds raised from their Kona Ice fundraiser to adopt four foster-care children in Smith County, ensuring each child experiences a Christmas filled with joy, comfort, and care.
On December 8, members of the Student Lighthouse Team traveled to Samβs Club, shopping thoughtfully to fulfill each childβs Christmas wish list. From toys and clothing to special items that reflect each childβs personality, students selected every gift with intention and compassion. The experience allowed them to see firsthand the impact of givingβand the importance of using their leadership roles to uplift others.

School Counselor Laura Boyd shared how meaningful the shift in tradition has been for students. βIn previous years, our students volunteered as Salvation Army bell ringers, but this year we wanted them to experience a deeper level of giving by bringing joy directly to children who may not receive it as easily as others have been blessed to,β Boyd said.

Through service, leadership, and heart, Jack Elementary students are celebrating the holiday season by giving back in the most impactful wayβby bringing joy to others.
