For the third consecutive year, Bell Elementary School’s Bella Girls proudly volunteered as official Red Kettle helpers, ringing in the holiday spirit while supporting families across the community. The group spent the day greeting shoppers, sharing smiles, and helping raise funds that bring food, shelter, and holiday joy to those who need it most.

Sponsor Kim Collum says the experience is rooted in more than traditionβ€”it’s about understanding the deeper meaning behind the familiar Christmas bell. β€œAs a sponsor for Bella Girls, I aim to help the girls grasp the significance and meaning when we hear the bells during Christmas,” Collum said. β€œThe sound represents curing hunger in our community, a safe place for families, and the ability to create a magical Christmas morning to a child in need. We want our Bella Girls to understand it is more than just community service; it is the sound of hope, help, love, and comfort.”

While volunteering, the girls witnessed the true spirit of generosity firsthand. A parent surprised them with hot chocolate, and a store customer, touched by their servant hearts, treated them to candy. He shared that their kindness inspired him to β€œpay it forward,” creating a moment the girls won’t soon forget.
