Congratulations to Sri Mandlem, senior at Tyler Legacy High School and the Career & Technology Center (CTC), for being named District Secondary Student of the Month.
Sri has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to the DECA organization at the CTC where she is chapter president. She demonstrated remarkable initiative by meeting with Early College High School staff before the school year began to present valuable information and by proactively driving recruitment efforts throughout the summer.
Her commitment to DECA is evident in her achievement as a 24-25 TX DECA state qualifier, and she has also secured a meaningful summer internship with Kelly Community Credit Union, which will continue into spring 2026 as part of her practicum class. Her ability to balance leadership responsibilities with rigorous academics is truly impressive.
In addition to her DECA involvement, Sri took the initiative to transform the CTC Professional Dress Closet into a formal club for the 2025-2026 school year, further supporting her peers' professional development. Her academic schedule is filled with challenging AP and Dual Credit classes, reflecting her strong work ethic and dedication to academic excellence. As a junior, she competed in Practicum level Business Management and is now advancing her skills by taking Practicum level Marketing in her senior year. Sri Mandlem exemplifies the qualities of a motivated, responsible, and inspiring student leader.
The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
