Tyler ISD, in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Services, proudly honors Hangers of Hope as the October 2025 B.R.I.D.G.E. Partner of the Month. This award recognizes Hangers of Hope’s exceptional dedication to inclusive employment and empowering students from the LINK 18+ program through meaningful work-based learning opportunities.
Inclusive employers like Hangers of Hope are vital to our community, opening doors for students with diverse abilities to gain real-world experience in integrated work settings. Sauncia Davis, Retail Floor Manager at the Broadway location, shares how much it warms her heart to witness the growth of each student participating in work-based learning. She proudly notes that several students who began as interns have transitioned into paid positions with Hangers of Hope. Students have expressed joy in activities such as sorting and organizing clothing on racks, while others enjoy creatively dressing mannequins for the storefront.
Currently, students from the LINK 18+ program are interning at two Hangers of Hope store locations, gaining valuable skills and building confidence that supports their transition into the workforce. This partnership exemplifies the spirit of a B.R.I.D.G.E. Partner—Businesses Reaching Individuals Determined to Gain Employment—and highlights how Tyler ISD and Texas Workforce VR collaborate to create pathways to employment and independence.
