Congratulations to our District Elementary Teacher of Month, Carrie Johnson, K-2 PATH teacher at Rice Elementary School.

Known for her compassion, work ethic, and support for students and colleagues alike, Carrie exemplifies what it means to be a true team player.

Every day, Carrie arrives well before her contracted time to ensure her classroom is ready for her students and the paraprofessionals who support them. In a special education setting where no two days are ever the same, she handles each challenge with grace and determination, always keeping her students’ needs at the forefront.

Her colleagues speak highly of her patience and creativity in the classroom. One paraprofessional shared, β€œCarrie works so patiently with our kids, and they’ve shown incredible growth thanks to her dedication. She’s always finding new ways to help our kids learn and grow.” Another added, β€œCarrie is such a blessing to Rice. She leads with compassion and always makes the PATH classroom feel welcoming.”

Her partner PATH teacher echoed those sentiments, saying, β€œShe goes above and beyond what’s expectedβ€”always willing to help others, even when her own plate is full. She believes in her students’ potential and pushes them to reach it. We are so blessed to have her on our team.”

Carrie Johnson’s commitment to her students and her team embodies the heart of education and the spirit of Tyler ISD.
