Bonner Elementary School hosted a block party to honor and celebrate the dedication of students, teachers, and staff whose hard work earned the campus an β€œA” Rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

Students enjoyed soccer games, colorful chalk art, face painting, balloons, bounce houses, delicious food, and a lively clown show, and even got to dunk Mrs. Gomez, the principal, in the dunking booth.

These activities were just some of what brought the community together for an evening filled with fun and laughter. Students who worked hard throughout the year finally had the chance to laugh, play, and enjoy a well-deserved celebration with their families, teachers, and friends.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Marvin Church, Show de Pekitas, DJ Zimba, Texas Roadhouse, Dr. Markle, Paleteria Polar, Moore Middle School cheerleaders, Bonner PTA, Crystal Clear Insurance, and Martinez Party Rentals for helping make the evening such a success.

The TEA rating reflects more than just test scoresβ€”it signals strong academic growth, improvements in closing gaps among student groups, and success even with high rates of economically disadvantaged students and those whose first language isn’t English. Bonner’s student body is majority Hispanic; almost half the students are in bilingual or English language learning programs.

The Block Party captured everything that makes Bonner great β€” hard work, community spirit, and the belief that success should always be celebrated together.
