The Tyler Legacy High School Wind Ensemble has been nationally recognized by the Foundation for Music Education with the prestigious 2025 Mark of Excellence Award β Commended Winner. This marks the first time in school history that the ensemble has received this honor, representing a milestone achievement for our program and community.
The Mark of Excellence competition received 478 entries from more than 40 states, highlighting the very best in scholastic music performance nationwide. From among these highly competitive submissions, the Tyler Legacy Wind Ensemble was selected for recognition β highlighting the outstanding talent, discipline, and dedication of these students.
βOur students have worked tirelessly throughout the year to create an extremely high-quality performance,β said Justin Threadgill, Director of Bands at Tyler Legacy High School. βThis award validates their commitment to excellence, the guidance of our staff, and the tremendous support we receive from our families and community.β
The Foundation for Music Educationβs Mark of Excellence program is designed to recognize and celebrate the highest achievement in performance by school music ensembles across the country.
