Two Tyler ISD Seniors Receive Inaugural NTHS Scholarships

Tyler ISD proudly announces the first recipients of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Chapter 3893 Scholarship for the 2024–2025 school year: Stephanie Esparza of Tyler High and Alaia Privett of Legacy High School. Each student will receive a $500 scholarship in recognition of their excellence in academics, leadership, and dedication to their Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways.

β€œWe wanted to recognize our top-notch students and support their future education,” said NTHS Sponsor Ana Vazquez. β€œThey give us their best, and we want to give back.”

Stephanie Esparza of Tyler High receives a $500 scholarship.

Stephanie plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler to study nursing, with a goal of working in neonatal or pediatric care. β€œThe scholarship means a lot to me because I can stay at home and study and still watch my brothers grow up while also receiving a good education at a university here in Tyler,” she said.

Her teacher, Jason Newport, shared, β€œShe’s a respectful student and a role model in class.”

Alaia Privett of Legacy High School receives $500 scholarship.

Alaia will attend East Texas Baptist University, where she will play soccer and pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. β€œHelping people return to what they love doing would be really special,” she said.

Health Science teacher Shannon Miller praised her as a hard-working and dedicated student.
