Bonner Elementary recently hosted a campus-wide Día del Niño, Kids’ Day, celebration to recognize and appreciate students' hard work throughout the year. The event gave students a chance to have fun and enjoy a variety of activities such as live music, piñatas, balloon displays, student performances, a bike raffle, interactive fun games, and even a backpack giveaway from the Bonner PTA.

In addition to student activities, the event welcomed local organizations and businesses to share resources and services with families. Community partners included Bonner PTA, Monarcas, Title 1, St. Paul Children's, PAVE East Texas, Bethesda Health, Smoothie King, Christian Woman Job Corps, Maya Properties, Go-Go Tax Financial Service, Studio 75–Mayra Leal, Girl Scouts, Family Circle of Care, Alpha Business Corp, Flow. Yoga, Mentoring Alliance, DJ Zimba, Tyler PD K9 Unit & McGruff, Tyler Fire Department, and Fire Flame Food Truck—all offering tools and opportunities to support students and parents beyond the classroom.

“The Día del Niño event was a collaborative effort among staff, our PTA, and partners,” said Bonner Elementary School principal Elizabeth Gomez principal. “It reflects Bonner’s continued commitment to student well-being, family engagement, and building strong school-community connections.”
