Career Day at Caldwell Arts Academy was extra special this year as former student Jesse Collins returned to inspire Caldwell's next generation. Jesse, now the official DJ for the world-famous Savannah Bananas baseball team, shared memories, music, and motivation with students and staff.
"It's surreal to be back where it all started," Collins told students. "Caldwell gave me the freedom to be creative. I didn't know it then, but those experiences shaped the path I'm on today."
An East Texas native, Jesse attended Caldwell from Kindergarten through fifth grade. During his visit, he showed photos from his time as a student and shared heartfelt stories about his journey, from the hallways of Caldwell to spinning tracks in front of thousands of fans.
As the DJ for the Savannah Bananas, Jesse brings energy and entertainment to games that are known for their viral antics, crowd engagement, and baseball with a twist. He spoke about the importance of passion, hard work, and staying true to yourself, whether you're behind a turntable or chasing any dream.
"Being back at Caldwell is wild," said Collins. "This is where it all started for me. I always loved music and being creative, and Caldwell gave me the space to explore that. Now I get to bring that same energy to the ballpark with the Savannah Bananas. Follow your passionβyou never know where it might take you."
Caldwell Arts Academy was proud to welcome Jesse home and celebrate the success of one of its own.
