Three Tyler ISD seniors received a life-changing scholarship surprise Thursday from The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler). Legacy High School students Cameron Ames, Blake Easley, and Moussa El Jor each received $40,000 toward their college education from UT Tyler President Dr. Kirk A. Calhoun. These three were selected from hundreds of applicants who submitted essays and were interviewed during the selection process.

Family members, Tyler Legacy staff, and UT Tyler and Tyler ISD leadership gathered in the library to celebrate these students' accomplishments. UT Tyler representatives personalized each presentation by sharing personal stories from interviews, which made each recipient stand out.
