Congratulations to our District Secondary Teacher of Month, Megan Strother, Chef at the Career & Technology Center.

Chef Megan Strother is the newest member of the Culinary Team at the CTC. Before bringing her talents to Tyler ISD, she successfully built the culinary program at Forney ISD. Recently she was featured in Life & Land Magazine Fall 2023 issue. Her story discusses her East Texas roots and experience in the culinary world (along with an amazing Osso Busco recipe). She is also one of the top chefs in the country who was invited to be a part one of the most prestigious events of the year, The Masters Tournament in Augusta.

If you visit her classroom, she brings energy and knowledge to support all students to reach their goals as she demonstrates excellence in her field.

Words from a couple colleagues:

“Chef Strother has elevated the culinary program. Not only does she raise the level of knowledge and hands-on learning for the students but has taken the role of head chef with ease in a new district and new school. Her attitude is always positive, her willingness to learn and help is top-notch. Plus, she has created fantastic food for a couple of events to date. Her students seem completely engaged and willing to learn.”

“Chef is such an amazing person. She brings positive energy daily and especially when she can see that others around her need a pick me up! Chef has made some bomb food and she's so generous with letting us all taste it! Thank you, Chef!”
