Where are you from? I am originally from Henderson, but I have lived in the Tyler area for about 17 years.
Family? I have been married to my husband Curtis, the social studies coordinator for Tyler ISD, for almost 19 years. We have three sons: Tucker (incoming sophomore at Legacy), Carter (incoming freshman at Legacy), and Channing (incoming 5th grader at Jack). We also have a family dog, a Pyre-doodle named Denver. (We're Denver Broncos' fans.)
Hobbies? I love listening to podcasts, exercising, watching movies, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.
Experience in education? I graduated from Stephen F. Austin where I studied middle level education with an emphasis in social studies. Since then, I have taught and/or tutored students in grades 5-12 in both social studies and language arts (and even a little bit of algebra) in Henderson, Whitehouse, and Tyler ISD. I am also no stranger to Three Lakes since I have been there for the past two years as a super-sub and certified tutor.
Favorite middle school memory? My favorite middle school memory is probably cheering at pep rallies and football games.
Anything else you want to share...I am extremely grateful to be a part of Three Lakes Middle School and am looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year!

Gators, please help us welcome Coach Corben Henry to the The Swamp! He is coming over from Tyler Legacy as a coach only; he teaches at TL. He will coach football here in the fall and Tyler Legacy baseball in the spring.
Where are you from? I am from Alvin, Texas. I moved to Tyler with my girlfriend Kaila, who I met while playing baseball at TJC in 2016.
Family? When visiting my hometown, I love getting to see my mom, dad, older brother, and two nephews. Also, my girlfriend and I have two dogs, Gypsy (A Labrador Retriever) and Elsa (An Australian Shepherd)
Hobbies? I enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Experience in education? Last year, I had the opportunity to experience my first year teaching. I taught Health at Tyler Legacy High School while coaching baseball. I am excited to go into my second year of teaching/coaching!
Favorite middle school memory? My favorite middle school memory was getting to play sports.
Anything else you want to share... I am excited to get to work at the same school as my girlfriend- she teaches 6th grade reading and coaches the cheer team at Three Lakes.

Gators, please help us welcome 7th grade RLA teacher, Matthew Starr! He is our third Super "Starr" on campus.
Where are you from? Tyler, TX born and raised.
Hobbies? Playing guitar, watching NBA, learning to cook, and reading all the time.
Experience in education? I'm looking forward to returning to Tyler ISD for my first year of teaching.
Favorite middle school memory? Spending lots of time outside at the old Moore MS campus.

Another great week for Middle School athletes!! "Better everyday on me, better everyday on 3......1...2...3...BETTER EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!" πππ

Where are you from? I am from Tyler and have lived in the surrounding areas all of my life. I am a graduate of Tyler Junior College and the University of Texas at Tyler.
Family? I am the proud mother of two daughters and Pippa to four grandchildren. I am blessed to live close to my mom and my sister and her family.
Hobbies? I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and eating Mexican food.
Experience in education? I have taught for 26 years.
Favorite middle school memory? My favorite teachers in middle school were Mrs. Thompson, my math teacher, and Mrs. Brown who taught Career Investigations. Mrs. Thompson infused her math class with conceptual learning and humor - the best way to learn. I had known from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher like my mom, but the vocational surveys in Mrs. Brownβs class sealed it for me.
Anything else you want to share... I am so excited to be at Three Lakes and I am ready to start this adventure!
