GT/TARGET at Owens:
We are excited to announce that we have a new addition to Owens for our GT/TARGET position, Morgan Westenmeyer. She is already in Tyler ISD and has been working as a TARGET teacher 🙂. She will be split just as Mrs. Carroll was; 4 days a week at Owens and 1 day a week at Dixie Elementary. Please help us welcome her to Owens!
-Where are you from? I am from Manhattan, KS and graduated from Kansas State (Go Wildcats!). We have lived in Tyler for almost 14 years.
-Family? I have been married to Mark for 16 years on Friday. We have two girls: Leah is 15 and will be a sophomore at Tyler Legacy, and Avery is almost 11 and will be in sixth grade at Three Lakes.
-Hobbies? I love to read, play board games, and watch movies, Netflix, and football!
-Work Related: This will be my seventh year in Tyler ISD and second year in GT. I subbed for a year, was the Media Technology Assistant at Caldwell for four years, and spent one year as the GT teacher at Orr and Bell.

Hi Tyler ISD! My name is Anna Murray and I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Owens Elementary this year!
I am from Jacksonville, Texas, but live in Tyler with my best friend!
My hobbies include playing with my sweet Schnoodle, Junie, shopping, going to church and spending time with friends and family.
I want to be at Owens because I feel that it is the next opportunity God has given me to impact the lives of children and staff. I felt at peace as soon as I stepped into the school!

-Where are you from? I grew up mostly in Emory, TX but have lived all over East Texas.
-Family? I have been married to my husband, Tucker, for a year and a half and we have a sweet little Shih Tzu named Briles!
-Hobbies? I enjoy spending time with my family, going to concerts, and going to Houston Astros and Baylor Football games when I can. I also serve on the worship team at our church which I absolutely love!
-Why do you want to be at Owens? Owens seems to have such a positive and supportive atmosphere. They truly want to see their students grow, as well as, push their teachers to be the best they can be.
