Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, community partners and dedicated volunteers, the Tyler Legacy Band Parent Association has successfully completed a fundraising campaign to provide a new enclosed equipment trailer for the Tyler Legacy High School Color Guard and Winter Guard.
The fundraising effort began in May 2026 after the Band Parent Association identified the need to replace the program's aging open utility trailer. The previous trailer exposed equipment to the elements during travel and offered limited storage, often requiring flags, rifles and other equipment to be transported inside buses. The new enclosed trailer provides weather protection, additional storage capacity and improved organization for equipment traveling to performances and competitions throughout the year.
The campaign resulted in the donation of a new 2026 True Blue 6-foot by 12-foot enclosed V-nose trailer from Precision Civil and Hoar Construction. Additional sponsorships from J2 Construction Services, Fritcher Construction Services, Hall Buick-GMC, SCI Construction, HGR Construction, Paragon Construction, Virginia and Joe Barron, along with several other community supporters, funded custom interior improvements, including a 60-foot e-track storage system, folding shelves, storage bins and specialized equipment anchors. Contributions also made it possible to install a custom exterior wrap featuring a sponsor recognition panel.
The trailer made its official debut July 31 during a special presentation for members of the 2026-2027 Tyler Legacy Color Guard. During the event, sponsors were recognized for their generous contributions and presented with certificates of appreciation for helping make the project possible.
The Tyler Legacy Band Parent Association's successful fundraising campaign highlights the strong partnership between Tyler ISD families, local businesses, and the community. Investments like these help provide students with the resources they need to travel safely, protect valuable equipment and focus on representing Tyler Legacy High School with excellence throughout the marching band and winter guard seasons. The project also reflects the community's continued investment in the district's Visual and Performing Arts programs, ensuring students have the resources they need to succeed both on and off the performance floor.
